Best Coastal Elopement Locations in Washington
Washington may not be at the top of many peoples’ list when it comes to top west coast beaches, but it does have some of the best beach views on the West Coast. Unlike California beaches, Washington beaches tend to be rockier but they are almost always secluded, providing so much privacy for your elopement.
OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK
While Olympic National Park covers a huge area of land, the west coast of Washington features rugged coastlines with rocky formations that peek out amongst crashing waves. You can see the tree root cave at kalaloch beach or the towering rock peaks at Ruby beach, but no matter where you say your vows, the coast of Washington is guaranteed to bring moody vibes to your elopement.

RUBY BEACH
Ruby Beach is one of the more well-known beaches in Washington and rightfully so! Located on the Olympic Peninsula this beach is full of dramatic sea stacks and driftwood. Better suited for hiking rather than lounging or swimming, Ruby Beach is a great choice for couples looking to plan an adventure elopement in Washington.
RIALTO BEACH
Another beach that will give you moody vibes and plenty of opportunities to explore is Rialto Beach. This beach also has plenty of sea stacks, tide pools, wildlife, and driftwood in true PNW fashion and it is also super accessible. The path to the beach is short and there is also a wheelchair-accessible ramp perfect for elopement ceremonies with guests with mobility restrictions.

Best Coastal Elopement Locations in Oregon
The Oregon Coast has some of the best coastal elopement locations, hands down! From stunning cliffs overlooking the ocean to rocky beaches similar to those in Washington, this portion of the West Coast has so much to offer.
HUG POINT
Located just an hour and a half from Portland, Hug Point is a beautiful beach in Northern Oregon. The beach is easy to access which is great for couples planning to elope with guests. The beach also has a waterfall that flows directly into the ocean, making this a truly unique place to elope.
SAMUEL H BOARDMAN STATE SCENIC CORRIDOR
One of the most beautiful and lesser-known areas on the Oregon Coast is Samuel H Boardman. This area of the coast stretches for 12 miles and is filled with hidden gems and hikes with breathtaking views like Secret Beach and Thunder Rock Cove. The cliffs here are incredible and also tend to be very private.

Best Coastal Elopement Locations in California
This blog post wouldn’t be complete without, of course, mentioning some of the best beach elopement locations in California! California is known for its incredible beaches and rugged coastlines so it’s no wonder that couples often choose to get married here.
MONTEREY BAY
Just 2 hours outside of San Francisco, lies Monterey Bay. While this location is often known for its incredible aquarium, there are also so many pristine beaches and bays to visit. The area also has a cute downtown to explore and grab drinks or dinner to help you celebrate.
BIG SUR
Just past Monterey Bay lies the Big Sur. If you’ve never been to Big Sur, California, or better yet are considering having your elopement in Big Sur then you’re in for something magical. We’re talking epic coastlines, rugged rocks, stunning cliff views, sandy beaches, rolling hills, ancient redwoods, earthy tones, and the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets imaginable – if you want your breath to be taken away by an elopement location beyond your wildest dreams, then having a Big Sur elopement or adventure wedding will never fall short of just that.

MALIBU
Last but not least is Malibu. This area of the California coast stretches for 21 miles and is home to some of the top surfing areas in the state. Because these beaches are located in southern California, the weather is pretty mild all year round. The area is full of towering arches and rock formations providing an ideal backdrop for your coastal elopement. Some of the best beaches are Point Dume State Beach, Zuma Beach, and El Matador Beach just to name a few!
